As part of our NSSWE Connect program, we are pleased to announce the first in a series of workshop events with some of Australia’s leading instrumentalists and performers, exclusively for our NSSWE musicians.
These workshops will focus on professional performance practices, developing instrument specific technique and insight into pursuing a musical career and working in the industry.
This week we welcome percussionist Timothy Brigden to NSSWE Connect.
Timothy Brigden has worked as a percussionist professionally since 2004, with groups such as the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Synergy Percussion, Sydney Chamber Opera, Queensland Symphony, Australian Ballet, Opera Australia Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonic in New Zealand and the BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic and the Royal Opera House Orchestra in Britain.
Recent performance highlights include: ‘The Really Useful Company’s production of “Les Misérables”, Disney’s “Aladdin” and GFO’s “The Wizard of Oz” at the Capitol theatre. The Australian Ballet’s production of “Alice in Wonderland”, Opera Australia’s “King Roger” & a three-week tour of Europe with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
As an educator, Timothy has tutored at The Arts Unit NSW, Sydney Youth Orchestra.
Timothy currently tutors at Queenwood school and at The Conservatorium High School. He has been an adjudicator at the Optimum Percussion Eisteddfod and also the prestigious Sydney Eisteddfod for the past three years.
